Introduction

A.Background of the study

Many of us wants to have a beatiful and shiny hair because our hair is our "crowning glory" and many people are buying some commercial products of hair wax even if it is expensive.So I choose this "Gumamela leaves as hair wax"in order to help people conserve money.

Hair wax is a thick hairstyling product containing wax,used to assist with holding hair.it does not harden like products such as hair gel,but remains pliable.hair wax has been used for how many years.In fact, a wax soap- like substance was invented by ancient Gauls as hair styling agent, and was not use as a cleaning agent until many years. Hair wax was currently experciencing an increase in popularity with many manufacturers releasing versions, refered to as pomade, putty, glue, whip and styling paste.

We all know that gumamela (Hibiscus rosa- sinensis Linn) is used for ornamental cultivation throughout the whole country and some uses it as medicine for cough. So in this project, Gumamela is used to produced hair wax. Gumamela contains anodyne that relieves pain and Anti- infectious that can't cause damage to hair. Gumamela has its stickyness that is a good source of hair wax. It is also environment- friendly cause it is made by pure Gumamela leaves and doesn't contain any chemicals that harm the environment.

B. Statement of the Problem

This study "Gumamela Leaves Extract as an alternative Hair wax" aims to have a wax which is safe, effective and environment friendly.

Specefically, it will try to answer the ff. questions:

1. Can gumamela leaves extract can produce an alternative hair wax?

2. What are the characteristics/ properties 0f gumamela leaves that produce hair wax?

3. Is gumamela leaves a good source in making hair wax?

4. Which is a better product of hair wax, gumamela as hair wax or the commercial one?

5. Is there any advantages or disadvantages in making gumamela as hair wax?

C. Hypothesis

Gumamela leaves extract can produce an alternative hair wax due to the fact that gumamela has its characteristics of stickyness just like in the hair wax and contains anodyne that relieves pain and can't cause damage to hair.

D. Significance of the Study

Gumamela (Hibiscus rosa- sinensis Linn) Leaves extract as hair wax help us to save money.Since the main component of this hair wax is out of pure gumamela leaves,it is safe and for it may not cause any damage to our hair.It is guaranteed environment-friendly cause it does not contain any harmful chemical that can destroy our environment.

E.Scope and Limitation

This study is only limited to the extract of the leaves of gumamela plant as an alternative hair wax & it is in the leaves where we can get a good quality that can produce a nice hair wax.

F. Definition of Terms

Gumamela- is a plant w/c is usually use for ornamental cultivation & propagation.

Anodyne- is a medicine that relieve pain.

Hair wax- is a thick hairstyling product use to assist with holding the hair.

Hibiscus rosa-sinensis Linn- scientific name for gumamela.
